Your Board Certified Ophthalmologist
Ignatius S. Hneleski Jr., M.D.
A Background of Service to Others
“After graduating from medical school and serving as Chief Flight Surgeon at the 5010th U.S.A.F. Hospital at Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska, I returned to Jefferson University Hospital for Residency and then completed a fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery at Wills Eye Hospital. Since then, I have helped Vistarr Laser & Vision Centers earn its reputation for excellence in eye care. I also serve as Chief of Ophthalmology at both Chester County Hospital and Paoli Memorial Hospital.”
Staying Ahead of the Curve
“In my long years of practice, ophthalmology has evolved considerably, yet I have always remained in the vanguard, keeping abreast of new technology,
advanced therapies and leading-edge equipment. Over the years, I have performed thousands of complex cataract and oculoplastic surgeries, but I never forget that each patient I care for deserves my undivided attention. I listen attentively and deliver straight-forward solutions.”
Sharing Experience and Knowledge
“I’m dedicated to passing my knowledge on to the next generation of ophthalmologists by teaching students at Jefferson Medical College. This also keeps me in touch with evolving research and improves my clinical skills.”
“It was the greatest thing that could happen. Now I can see both distance and reading without glasses. I am an avid reader, averaging at least a book a week. Now I can read sitting up, lying down or anyway I wish to. No need to get those bifocals in the right position. An added bonus was the correction of an astigmatism. Colors are brighter. Things are sharper. I didn’t know what I was missing. One of the small treats was to be able to walk into a drugstore and pick out a pair of sunglasses just because I like them and if I find another pair I like better I can get those too for a very small fraction of the cost of prescription sunglasses.
I thought long and hard before making this decision, but would recommend it to anyone who can have it. Am I worth the extra expense? I definitely think I am.”
